On the Councils and the Church (Martin Luther, 1539)

Written by Martin Luther in 1539, On the Councils and the Church gives Luther’s wisdom for reforming the church, the place and role of a general church council, and how the church is to survive and refute error by the Scriptures.

Perhaps the most wonderful portion of this text is Luther’s conclusion on the seven marks of the church (which begins on page 211).
