An Explanation of the Common Service

Free PDF Download | Purchase Print Edition for $5

An Explanation of the Common Service unfolds the riches of the Lutheran liturgical heritage. Using simple questions and answers, this book looks at the parts of the service, the church year, and the churches hymns. It beautifully answers the question, “Why do we do that?” Most of all, it reminds us that in the Divine Service the Lord is present with His mercy to forgive all our sins.

This will be a great addition to any Christian library.

Pastors, have these handy to hand out to visitors and new members. It also makes a great Bible Study book.

  1. Hi Pastor Wolfmueller,

I sent this Explanation to the Common service to my Pastors and Elders of our church. I was trying to help them understand the importance of our divine service. My Pastor had mentioned it was rejected by the Missouri Synod. Is this true? Do you have any other information? Thanks! I enjoy the book!
