Pr Wolfmueller Update, July 9, 2020

Dear Friends and Family, Far and Near,

God be praised that we are so loved that I write this to you now.

As we enter a fourth week of the unexpected, I felt the need to bring everyone onto the same page with some updates about Pastor Wolfmueller, my Bryan.

True enough, we were excited to be headed on a family vacation to Colorado to visit friends and family.  Within hours of our arrival in Colorado, Bryan began running a fever.  It was late in the evening and we immediately isolated him, hoping it was something small that he might sleep off.  The following day the fever persisted, and I took him to an urgent care.  Following some tests, he was diagnosed as “presumed positive” for Covid-19.  As soon as we felt Bryan was stable, we drove back home to Texas where his immune system has continued to fight this illness.  His initial test for Covid-19 came back negative, but despite this seemingly good news, his symptoms continued.  After 10 tough days, he finally turned the corner and his body began to recover.  Praise be to God!  Also, in God’s great mercy and provision, the kids and I have remained healthy and symptom free.

Although the immediate threat seems to have passed, Bryan’s body is still working hard to heal.  His energy level is pretty low and he’s working through some temporary setbacks that can occur from enduring such a serious illness.  Our doctor, who has been truly amazing and supportive through all of this, feels Bryan will have a full recovery!  We are just not sure quite how long that might take and for that, we ask for your patience.

To many of you, thank you for the prayers, words of encouragement, and loving support you have shown our family!  These have been a priceless treasure to me! And some of you have loved us so selflessly that I am beyond humbled.  What a great gift God gave to us to have you as friends and family.  But, most to be praised is our loving God!  What a great comfort it is to know, that Jesus himself is before the Father advocating for us, on our behalf, even now! That Jesus calls Bryan by name and knows his every need.

Please understand that I will not be able to respond to each comment or question, as my vocation as a wife and mother are at the forefront.  If you feel the need for additional communication, you can reach us through contacting St. Paul Lutheran Church here in Austin.

Until we can be together to once again rejoice in the Lord’s Word, “read, learn, mark, and inwardly digest it,” keep those prayers coming!

With all my love,

Keri Wolfmueller
