Thank you Pastor Wolfmueller!
You give us hope for Christ’s Church Body/Bride.
We have many family members who were at one time LCMS.
They do not understanding the Holy Spirit…
Thanks for speaking the Truth in love, clearly showing us how at Pentecost, “everyone understood” the Apostles speaking in their own dialect.
(Acts 2:6,8)
And the Spirit came upon all flesh… and sons & daughters will prophesy. (Acts 2:17)
We know in Hebrews:
“Long ago, at many times and in many ways, God spoke to our fathers by the prophets…
…but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world.”
-Hebrews 1:1-2 ESV
We know the Word became flesh…
“Sanctify them in the truth; your word is truth.”
-John 17:17 ESV
Thanks for explaining the Holy Spirit who dwells within us.
“Do you not know that you are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in you?”
-1 Corinthians 3:16 ESV
“If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy him. For God’s temple is holy, and you are that temple.”
-1 Corinthians 3:17 ESV
Satan 30 years ago tried to condemn me for not believing in the presence of God.
And yet, God’s very presence rescued me from the enemy.
“Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.”
-Psalm 51:10 ESV
“Cast me not away from your presence, and take not your Holy Spirit from me.”
-Psalm 51:11 ESV
“Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and uphold me with a willing spirit.”
-Psalm 51:12 ESV
This was read often in our Liturgy.
And also…
“Where can I go from your spirit? Or where can I flee from your presence?”
“If I ascend to heaven, you are there; if I make my bed in Sheol, you are there.”
-Psalms 139:7-8 NRSV
My family members need to hear God’s Word/Son/Spirit…
Sadly, once they hear Luther’s name or his friends, my family is gone…
“So let no one boast about human leaders. For all things are yours,”
-1 Corinthians 3:21 NRSV
“I have applied all these things to myself and Apollos for your benefit, brothers, that you may learn by us not to go beyond what is written, that none of you may be puffed up in favor of one against another.”
-1 Corinthians 4:6 ESV
We need each other!
“…that there may be no division in the body, but that the members may have the same care for one another.”
-1 Corinthians 12:25
Thanks for not giving up on God’s Word.
Listening to W.W. Bible study from Apr 28 2021. Psalm 139 Being formed in the depth of the earth could be referring to Gen 1-2 being formed from the dust of the earth. Also Ecc 3:16-22 From dust to dust. Just thoughts that came to mind as you were teaching.
