Bethany Lutheran Church in Naperville Illinois hosts regular theological conferences for their congregation and neighbors. They asked if I’d come and present this year, and I hope you’ll be able to join us.

The four topics are (this is a draft):

• 1/ A Calibrated and Clean Conscience (The four things that inform the conscience, including the conscience, how a conscience is clean even when our feet are dirty, how For Us, and How the Lord Uses us to help our families and friends)
• 2/ Being Boy and Girl (or how having children is a rebellious act of hope, or why the sixth commandment is the easiest to breach, or how the devil has always been a baby murderer, or the ancient roots of transgenderism)
• 3/ Persecution is Confession (or why you don’t need an evangelism program when your faith is on trial, or why the blood of the martyrs is the seed of the church, and the joy of Christian suffering, or why all the gladiators ended up being martyred with the Christians they were supposed to kill, some Martyr’s Faith stuff)
• 4/ God hides His promises (or why we walk by faith and not sight, or why the throne is hidden behind the cross, Heb 2:14, then 2:8, thinking of Luther’s commentary on Jacob and how the Lord governs his church.)
