SUMMARY:Continuing Education Class: Welcoming the Unchurched.
DESCRIPTION:Welcoming the Unchurched\nAs our culture continues the slide towards secularization and we see the growth of the “nones” (those who have no faith at all)\, how does the church’s voice welcome and teach those with no theological background? How do we practice hospitality? How do we catechize from ground zero? How do we set the arc of the Bible’s story of redemption against all of the culture’s story arcs of destruction? And how can the Lutheran Church share in the joy of the angels who are astonished over one sinner’s repentance? We’ll take up these topics and more in this Continuing Education class. \nThis is a continuing education class for Concordia Theological Seminary\, Fort Wayne. \nAdditional information about this class (including accommodations):\nRev. Marsh Shamburger III\nPhone: (505) 681-0922 \nRegister by phone with credit card:\nContact LeeAnna Rondot at (260) 452-2204.\nRegister online:\nGo to ctsfw.edu/CE/Rocklin-California. \nBrochure – Rocklin \n

SUMMARY:The Reformation of Worship: Scriptural Background and Key Texts\, 1523–1580
DESCRIPTION:Description \nAC 24 claims that the churches of the Wittenberg Reformation retained “nearly all the usual ceremonies” of the mass. So what\, exactly\, did the Lutherans reform of the mass? What did that look like? And what does it mean for the Evangelical Lutheran Church in the 21st century? The “Reformation of Worship” takes up these and many other questions as it explores key liturgical works and passages of Luther\, Chemnitz\, and the Confessions\, with a concluding look at the instantiation of Reformation principles and practices in the Saxon Church Order of 1580. Course approach: some lecture with high level of guided student-teacher and student-student interaction. \nLearn more and register here: https://portal.ctsfw.edu/s/continuing-education-detail?recordId=a1yUh000006kmvpIAA \nSchedule \nDays 1 and 2\n9:00 a.m. — Matins\n9:30 a.m. — Class\n12:00 p.m. — Lunch\n1:00 p.m. — Class\n4:00 p.m. — Class ends \nDay 3\n9:00 a.m. — Matins\n9:30 a.m. — Class\n12:00 p.m. — Depart
