The seventh annual Young Adult Conference at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Austin takes up the apostle’s charge to “always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you” (1 Peter 3:15). This year’s theme, “Apologetics in an Apathetic Age,” asks how we bring the Good News to a generation buried in bad news, and how the Christian confession is spoken clearly to neighbors who have stopped asking the question. Sessions cover confessing Christ within our vocations, defending the faith, and handing our neighbors the truth of Scripture in an age that treats truth as a preference. The weekend is led by the pastors of St. Paul, including Pastor Bryan Wolfmueller, and includes a Q and A session. The days are framed by the church’s prayer: Matins, Vespers, and the Divine Service on Sunday morning. There is plenty of time built in for fellowship with young adults traveling in from around the country. The conference is for young adults ages 18 to 35.
