My Bible Reading Plan

Here’s the plan I like to use for reading through the Bible. I built it a few years age for the Rightly Divided Blog, and it’s the best I’ve been able to come up with so far.

I wanted to keep things as simple as possible while also mixing up the readings a bit.

Here’s the basic idea:
* Three chapters a day, one Old Testament, one Psalm, one New Testament.
* Old Testament books follow a roughly chronological order (which mixes us the history and prophetic books).
* New Testament series rotates (Gospel, Paul, General Epistles).

At this pace (reading six times a week) you will read the Old Testament in two-and-a-half years, the Psalms more than twice a year, and the New Testament one-and-a-half times a year.

Blessed reading! PrBW

Collect for the Word
Blessed Lord, who hast caused all Holy Scriptures to be written for our learning, grant that we may in such wise hear them, read, mark, learn, and inwardly digest them, that by patience and comfort of Thy holy Word we may embrace, and ever hold fast, the blessed hope of everlasting life, which Thou hast given us in our Savior Jesus Christ, who liveth and reigneth with Thee and the Holy Ghost, ever one God, world without end. Amen.
